Choosing an IT support provider is less about finding the longest service list and more about making sure responsibility, response expectations and commercial terms are clear. A good provider should understand your users, devices, networks, cloud services and business-critical systems before proposing a support model.
An IT AMC should state included support hours or visits, remote versus on-site coverage, response targets, after-hours rates and exclusions. This is easier to budget than a vague promise of unlimited support.
IT support and cybersecurity overlap. Ask how the provider handles administrator accounts, MFA, endpoint protection, patching, firewall changes, backup checks and staff offboarding.
You should know who owns administrator credentials, network diagrams, vendor accounts, configuration backups and asset records. Good documentation reduces dependency on one technician.
